i always talk about jumpstarting it, now someone just turned on the ignition

yup that's me at the entrance of the resto taking a pic of that stunning thai statue
my friend alex being his usual quirky self. this guy never fails to crack me up!
that's my messy working table
gelo, one of the artists, and boss rodney-- don't be fooled, these guys are wacky in between takes
so here's our teeny weeny make shift set-up. if you've ever eaten at krua thai at the mega strip, you'll recognize the place

february kicked off with some major food styling for the most part of the first week. got the stint from an old UPFA classmate who's now in the advertising industry. i'm so glad he had faith in my talents after all these years! good thing i started building somewhat of a portfolio to show beginning of the year. everything was all in a rush, and we had to start shooting in less than a week's notice. i plated and styled over 70 asian dishes for this restaurant yet to open at the megastrip. i'm so happy with the results, i think i've just had my new portfolio made. final pics will be posted here of course as soon as i get my hands on them. the job was no child's play. we were up 'til two or four in the mourning for the photo shoot- bugging the chef to keep 'em plates coming, adjusting lights, glazing meats, and best of all, getting a taste of all those yummy dishes. the chef was thai and man can he cook! contrary to popular belief, food styling isn't all about faking. it's making the food look good the best way you can. more edible-looking means more edible for me. we sure had our share of eats, and had fun the entire three days of shoot. those guys were a treat to work with :)
