my dad's sister died in her sleep a few days ago. it's during times like these when reality hits you that life is indeed short. she passed away at the age of forty-two, leaving behind four children now left to their own devices. the youngest i believe is sixteen.
my sister was fourteen, i was almost twenty-one when my dad gave in to cancer. i know how it felt to be left surprised and numb when a family member dies. it's more difficult when you're young to accept these things. just like those fairy tales in brother's grimm. sitting at the wake made me realize how petty my problems were compared to the kids who were now left wondering what's going to happen to them next. how important are my priorities right now if i were to die say next week or next month? indeed, something to think about. a re-shuffling may have to be implemented...

It did hit me again this morning. The uncertainty of death to come. I checked my insurances if I'm covered. Gosh! I am. No worries then.
Just one request. Please no wake for me. Just send me to the crematorium and give my ash to Bagbag. Serious.
